To visit the Cu Chi is almost a must, the tunnel system dug by the Viet Minh in 1948 and later expanded by the Viet Cong during the war. This space stores, dormitories, hospitals and schools. Finally, it is time to engage residents’ own evening entertainment – “di Troi”, to stroll, or go with a moped or bicycle along the streets.
